Details: An exciting opportunity exists within Transport Canberra in the Bus Operations Communications Centre for a permanent Communications Transport Officer. The Communications Centre is responsible for coordinating the flow of information between Bus Drivers and other stakeholders, both internal and external to Transport Canberra. Communications Transport Officers have the responsibility to make decisions often independently on the management of and resolution of a wide range of incidents, situations or events that affect the bus network daily.
Located in Tuggeranong, the Communications Transport Officer position is designated shift work where weekly hours are subject to a rotating four-week roster which includes some weekend shifts. Daily hours are nominally eight (8) hours between 05:00am and 01:30am the following day. Staff will be required to work additional hours on a regular basis to ensure minimum staffing levels are maintained and operational requirements are met.
Eligibility/Other requirements:
- Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) - Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required. - Hold or have the ability to obtain a First Aid Certificate.
- Knowledge of public transport within an omnibus environment is highly desirable.
