About the role
The Road Construction & Maintenance Branch is where key road and drainage services are delivered directly to the Logan City community. The branch is focused on delivering excellent customer service in a timely manner and to a high quality. Our branch is made up of 2 programs ‘Road Maintenance’ and ‘Road Construction’.
Our Maintenance branch are seeking experienced and competent Truck Drivers (Truck & Dog x 4 based at our Munruben Depot and 1 x HR Truck Driver at our Marsden Depot with labouring components) who are solution focused and proactive team players, with demonstrated experience in road construction maintenance, ability to operate various tools, plant machinery, heavy vehicles and a thorough understanding of health & safety policies.
Knowledge Skills and experience needed for the role:
- Demonstrated ability in truck driving duties associated with the maintenance and construction of roads, paved areas and drainage facilities
- Transportation of stores equipment and materials
- Loading, unloading and securing of stores, equipment and materials as required, ensuring the stability of their load regardless of the type of truck, journey or load
- Undertaking daily prestart inspections
- Maintaining the truck and machine in a clean and well-presented condition
- Willingness and ability to carry out labouring activities including but not limited to concrete cutting, concreting, erecting signage, unloading truck, barricading off sites and cleaning equipment (when not conducting truck driving activities)
- Have experience with truck and dogs would be highly advantageous
Minimum requirements of the role include:
- Hold a current Australian minimal HR, up to HC or MC driver's licence
- Hold a General Safety Induction Card (Construction Industry
- Must be willing to undergo a Pre-Employment functional assessment and be assessed as being able to meet the functional requirements of the position
