The CPB Contractors, Ghella & UGL joint venture has been successful in securing the contract to deliver the $3.1bn M6 Stage 1 project. The project will deliver the missing link from Sydney's south to the wider Sydney motorway network making journeys easier, faster and safer. It will remove more than 2,000 trucks a day from surface roads and help return local streets to local communities.
With works commenced in early 2022, the M6 Stage 1 project scope includes the construction of twin four-kilometre tunnels and associated works, linking the M8 Motorway at Arncliffe to President Avenue at Kogarah.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a motivated Project Engineer with a can-do attitude to provide on-site engineering support to our fun and hard-working C2 Tunnelling Team.
Reporting to the C2 Tunnelling Area Manager, some of the role's key accountabilities include;
- Coordinating procurement and construction elements for Water Proofing, Lining and Drainage
- Assisting with the development and implementation of construction methods on site in consultation with the Senior Managers and Superintendents
- Ensuring Quality requirements are included in project delivery documentation including subcontractor and supplier packages
- Assisting in preparing accurate monthly reports
- Developing and monitoring KPI and productivity analysis against program and budget
- Working with site Supervisors and site teams
- Actively liaising with subcontractors and suppliers
- Liaising with project team members
The successful candidate will have;
- Either a recognised degree in engineering discipline OR other relevant tertiary qualification (TAFE or similar)
- Graduate Member of Institution of Engineers Australia (IEAust) or Institution of Professional Engineers New Zealand (IPENZ)
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience
- Manage self and others to deliver work to between $1M and $10M
- Applying engineering principles to comply with scope of works and technical criteria (SWTC)
- Demonstrated commercial experience to include planning up to 4 weeks ahead and weekly reporting against cost and time
- Be willing to take full responsibility for assigned works and deliver it independently
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
