Who are we?

Lorikeet Tutoring & Wellbeing is a local business offering tutoring to Primary School, High School, and homeschool students across the Northern Rivers. Our tutors travel to students to provide valuable face to face learning or online sessions. We incorporate play and mindfulness to make learning fun and have had amazing feedback and outcomes!

Role description:

You will travel to your students and provide them with tailored support in their studies. Leadership will work with you to create an approach that suits each student and their learning goals. This may involve support with homework and assessment, building confidence through learning games, structuring study habits, and introducing mindfulness techniques to combat exam anxiety. You will not be required to travel further than 30 minutes without remuneration.
 

Who are we looking for?

We are hiring tutors who live in the Byron, Ballina, Lismore and Tweed regions.

Our tutors come from a variety of backgrounds including education, youth work, and mental health. We do not expect you to have qualifications! We would love to hire team members who have a strong grasp over fundamental learning concepts (Maths and English) as well as familiarity and understanding of the NSW High School curriculum. You may be a recent High School graduate who achieved highly and loves to help others learn. You could also be a seasoned professional looking to make some extra cash after hours. Pre-service teachers would be an excellent fit. If you are interested, but not sure if you meet the requirements, please reach out for a chat!

Mandatory requirements:

• Passion for fostering confidence in young people and supporting their learning journey
• Sound understanding of fundamental Maths and English principles, plus confidence in one or more High School subjects
• Current Driver's License (Open or Provisional) and own mode of transportation
• Willing to provide or obtain a Police Check & Working with Children Check
