Who we’re looking for

We are currently seeking an Underground Mechanical Technician – Tilt Tray Operator to join our team based at Cadia during an exciting period of transformation. You will be responsible for the safe and productive operation of underground equipment for the purpose of underground maintenance activities.

Key deliverables of this role include, but not limited to:

• Promote and maintain a culture of ‘safe production’ by compliance with company safety systems, policies, procedures and accountabilities. I.e. FCCCs, JSEA, Prestart inspections, hazcards and audits.
• Ensure all incidents, near miss and hazards are reported to Shift Supervisor.
• Safely conduct underground truck operations.
• Undertake specific tasks as directed by the Underground Shift Supervisor (e.g. – IT work, clean up, assisting Cadia East Shutdown and Maintenance teams)

About You

We are looking for a safety focused and team-oriented individual who has:

• A good attitude and commitment to workplace health and safety
• Experience in and sound knowledge of underground metalliferous mining
• Experience in operating a truck (Tilt Tray)
• The ability to stay focused, motivated and work well within a team when carrying out repetitive tasks.
• HR licence
• IT ticket, Elevated Work Platform, C6 ticket (desirable)

Please note: You will be required to work a 5D/2X roster. There will be a requirement to be flexible with hours during shutdown periods.
