Position Overview
Mackay Sugar is seeking a motivated and talented undergraduate or Graduate Electrical Engineer to join our team. This position offers a unique opportunity for a passionate individual to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic industrial setting while contributing to the success of our operations. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, the underGraduate Electrical Engineer will assist in various projects and daily activities related to electrical systems and automation within our sugar mills.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems, including power distribution, instrumentation, and control systems.
- Conduct troubleshooting and repair of electrical equipment and components to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support production processes and implement improvements for efficiency and safety.
- Participate in project planning and execution, including feasibility studies, cost estimation, and project management tasks.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory standards to promote a culture of safety and compliance within the organization.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Strong academic background in Electrical Engineering fundamentals, including circuit analysis, power systems, and control theory.
- Proficiency in CAD software for schematic design and drafting (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks Electrical).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail with a hands-on approach to learning and problem-solving.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Prior internship or co-op experience in a relevant industry is preferred but not required.
