Fitzroy Mining Operations is a new force in the Queensland metallurgical coal mining industry with a portfolio of existing operations and a pipeline of growth projects.  In our short history, we have successfully reinvigorated operations at Carborough Downs underground mine, breathed new life into the Broadlea open cut and our next exciting venture is the Greenfields underground longwall and bord and pillar - Ironbark No.1.

About the role(s)

You will be reporting to the ERZ Controller and be responsible to work towards production targets safely and support efficiencies in all associated Development functions whilst undertaking relevant tasks.  We are seeking expressions of Interest for Bord & Pillar, Longwall, Outbye, Development, experienced underground coal mineworkers and tradespeople.

Key Responsibilities of the role will include:

• Working safely and efficiently in all associated Development functions, to support the achievement of production targets and undertake any other tasks for the operations.
• Preparation, planning and timely execution of daily work as issued from the approved weekly schedules. 
• Contributing to the development of a safe, positive and collaborative organisational culture.
• Ensuring that any maintenance activities are carried out in compliance with relevant coal mining legislation and requirements (Trade Role) 
• Carry out breakdown repairs to equipment as required (Trade Role).
• Provide a daily shift report, indicating the results of routine examinations carried out on the shift, any defects found and/or repaired, hours worked on each job, and an assessment of the relevant piece of equipment where required. (Trade Role) 

About you

To be successful in this role you will have the following skills:

• Significant previous experience working in an underground coal mine.  Only people with this experience will be considered.
• Standard 11 Surface and Underground
• Relevant Trade Qualification and Tickets.
• Demonstrated history of working safely.
• Commitment to the achievement of business goals and outcomes.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills 
• Ability to work well within a team.
