The Role
The role of the Underground Site Surveillance Officer entails overseeing the underground works conducted by the Principal Contractor. Positioned across Lobs Hole or Tantangara sites, your primary objective is to proactively ensure that contractual requirements are met and that the project's performance standards are upheld.
Responsibilities include:
Ensure compliance with employer's design and construction requirements.
Maintain regular communication with the direct manager regarding observed issues and their mitigation in the field.
Conduct daily inspections of work fronts and make decisions to maintain construction productivity, safety, and compliance with EIS guidelines.
Adhere to Snowy 2.0 Corporate Governance procedures.
Coordinate with Safety and Environmental Assurance Officers to ensure daily deliverables such as toolbox sessions and work method implementations for Civil works.
Collaborate with Owner's Team Quality Engineers and attend site inspections for Witness and Hold Points identification.
Perform on-site quality management for civil engineering and construction work on behalf of the 2.0 Owner's team.
Ensure production and recording of all necessary quality documentation by the contractor.
Monitor and prepare daily progress reports on all works in progress at the site, including plant and equipment, key KPI indicators, resources onsite, and weather conditions, and report to the Project Manager.
You'll Bring To The Team:
A background in construction trade/supervision, paired with pertinent training and experience in infrastructure construction or related industries, is essential. You should excel in effectively managing changes in work tasks and environments, supporting others in adapting to these changes. Strong communication skills are crucial, enabling you to convey information and ideas effectively to individuals and groups. Most importantly, you'll showcase your ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also demonstrating autonomy, responsibility, and initiative.
