About the Team
SME Commercial Package is a strategically important product within AIG Australia, and we are seeking to invest in our team and systems to maximize the growth opportunity. This role is an integral part of AIG’s SME Underwriting Team. It reports to Head of Underwriting Services, SME Package.
About the role
In this role you will deliver service administration excellence to our internal and external customers. Essential support to the SME underwriting team to ensure smooth operating processes and procedures are updated and maintained. This is a foundational role on an underwriter career path and provides an excellent opportunity for professional learning and development.
What you need to know:
Key accountabilities will include but not limited to:
Assist with answering and triaging incoming customer calls through the Genesys phone platform
Own and manage the SME Business Package email mailbox ensuring that all internal and external enquiries are responded to within service timeframes
Facilitate the process of issuance of underwriting administration documents including but not limited to certificates of currency, claim history reports, etc.
Support reviewing process efficiencies and streamlining document management across the team
Issue weekly renewal invitation compliance notification to the SME underwriting team
Assist Head of Underwriting Services in various tasks including but not limited to maintaining minutes from team meetings, manage team activities and leave calendar
Proactively engage with operational teams to ensure timely and effective credit control monitoring (including unallocated cash and receivables/aged debtor reporting)
Support with team reporting and ad hoc tasks as directed by Head of Underwriting Services
Professional and compliant management of sensitive and confidential information
What we’re looking for:
Previous experience within the general insurance industry
Basic knowledge of commercial underwriting concepts
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite systems
Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Ability to work autonomously, to meet deadlines and manage workloads
Strong interpersonal skills – particularly collaboration and team engagement
Sound communication skills – including written and presentation skills
Strong, engaged team player and performs with a sense of urgency
