The University of Canberra Council and the ACT Government are seeking EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST from individuals who wish to nominate for four positions on University Council: three beginning in November 2024 and one in February 2025.
The Council welcomes applications from individuals with knowledge and interest in the higher education sector and significant governance experience commensurate with a major national organisation with an annual turnover approaching $350m, 17,500 students, 1,360 staff, and world leading researchers.
Applicants will have an appreciation of the University values, its ten-year decadal strategy Connected 2023 – 2032, its core activities of teaching and research, its independence and commitment to academic freedom, and the needs of the community.
“We are especially keen to hear from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people for these important positions” Ms Paul said.
Applications are particularly welcomed from individuals with capability and experience in corporate or commercial finance, cyber security and IT, law, user experience and customer journeys, communications, and corporate board experience.

Appointments will be made by the ACT Chief Minister for a term of three years. Externally appointed members of the University of Canberra Council receive remuneration.
