This unique opportunity is based on the Tanami, approximately a 3-hour drive from Alice Springs. The school has around 85 students, spanning from reception to year 12. In this role, you will collaborate with a local assistant teacher who supports in areas such as teaching and learning, and behaviour management. It's a chance to have a positive impact on the educational outcomes of students, by creating engaging educational experiences in an environment where your openness and sensitivity for other cultures will open you to learning from students, families and community.
Situated on the traditional lands of the Anmatyerre and Warlpiri peoples, the community is home to around 150 residents. Access to the community is primarily via a sealed highway, and it offers essential services such as an early childhood centre, a clinic, a store, an aged care facility, and night patrol services.
This is a full-time position for 2024, with the possibility of an extension.

- Wages between $81,738 - $117,225 plus super.
- Annual remote allowances of $8,239, paid pro-rata fortnightly with salary. $10,047 with dependents.

Registered (or ability to) with TRBNT and a NT Working With Children check (ochre card) in addition to,
- Bachelor’s degree in education or equivalent.
- Remote teaching experience
- Ability to collaboratively plan, prepare and deliver teaching and learning programs to meet the diverse characteristics, needs and learning styles of students.
- Knowledge of and the ability to implement effective and inclusive teaching and learning processes, including the use of learning technology and assessment.
- Ability to communicate and relate effectively with students, staff and families through appropriate interpersonal skills.
- Ability to plan and apply appropriate behaviour management strategies that contribute to establishing and maintaining a supportive learning environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with school staff, parents and members of the local school community in order to establish and develop productive partnerships, in an intercultural environment to achieve optimal educational outcomes.
- Commitment to maintain current and relevant professional learning and meet Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills.
- Ability to build relationships and listen to the needs of the students, school and community.
