A fantastic opportunity has become available for a proactive and enthusiastic Valve Technician/Mechanical Fitter to support our busy Workshop located in Northgate, Brisbane.
Main responsibilities:
- Repair and test valves and associated components in both a workshop and site environment
- Close tolerance and interface fitting
- Understand bolt torque requirements
- Pressure test valves as per specification
- Fault find and resolve problems within your area of competence
- Comply with Quality System Requirements and Procedures
- Use control components such as positioners, regulators, and volume boosters
- Variety of other workshop, site & offshore related tasks as required
The Successful Candidate will ideally have (training will be provided for right candidate):
- Trade Qualifications in Fitting and Machining, First Class Machinist or Similar Automotive / Mechanical Field. Training available.
- Completed an apprenticeship as a valve technician or able to demonstrate appropriate level of experience
- Previous experience in the overhaul, testing of all valve and actuator types.
- Proven mechanical aptitude and capability to deliver quality work.
- Experience in Process Engineering environment either in a workshop or on-site.
- High regard for working safely and environmental responsibility.
- Ability to work in an adaptable team and use own initiative.
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions.
- Track record of being attentive to accuracy and detail in their work
