VCE General Maths Teacher

Job Description
A terrific opportunity awaits an experience VCE General Maths Teacher to become part of a well-respected Catholic Secondary school in Point Cook, in a full-time role starting Term 2, until the end of the year, with ongoing possibilities. Working with year 11 students teaching Units 1-2 General Maths and year 12 students teaching General Baccalaureate Maths.
Key Duties

• Develop and implement a comprehensive VCE Maths curriculum aligned with the Victorian Curriculum guidelines, possibly covering subjects such as Mathematical Methods, Specialist Mathematics, and Further Mathematics.
• Create engaging and rigorous lesson plans that address the specific content and skills required for success in VCE Maths subjects.
• Prepare students for the VCE Maths examinations by teaching content, problem-solving strategies, and examination techniques.
• Administer practice exams and assessments to gauge students' readiness and identify areas for improvement.
• Utilize technology tools and resources effectively to enhance VCE Maths instruction, including graphing calculators, mathematical software, online resources, and digital learning platforms.
• Engage in continuous professional development activities to stay updated on best practices in VCE Maths education, teaching methodologies, curriculum developments, and assessment strategies

Skills & Experience:

• Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia
• Hold a valid and up-to-date VIT registration
• Experience in VCE Mathematics instruction
• Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years Highly developed interpersonal skills
• An understanding and appreciation of Catholic teachings, values, and traditions are essential for teaching within the Catholic system, or a preparedness to be working within this system
