Reporting to the Surface Technology Manager, as the Vehicle Interaction Technology Engineer you will be part of a dedicated team focused on implementing the mobile equipment collision awareness system across Glencore Coal Assets Australia’s surface operations. Post implementation you will manage and govern the collision awareness system and provide support to each surface operation and the technology supplier.

To be successful in the role you will have;

• Knowledge of industry leading mobile equipment collision awareness or proximity detection systems.
• Strong project management experience with implementing mining technologies.
• Proven leadership and stakeholder management qualities.
• The ability to work in a high pressure and competing priority environment.

You will be able to demonstrate;

• Good interpersonal, cooperative and facilitation skills as part of interfacing with various levels of management, site personnel and external agencies.
• A highly visible leadership style and on-site presence during the implementation program.

Ideally located in the Hunter Valley region NSW, in close proximity to Newcastle. This role offers the opportunity to manage an important safety technology and includes regular travel to our operational sites across NSW and Queensland. Usual site location options of either Newcastle or near Singleton to be negotiated with successful candidate.
