Ventilation Engineer

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining effective ventilation systems in an underground gold mine to ensure a safe and healthy working environment.The Role:

• Design and Implementation: Develop and implement ventilation plans and systems to ensure optimal airflow and air quality in the mine.
• Monitoring and Analysis: Regularly monitor air quality and ventilation systems, analyze data, and make necessary adjustments to maintain safety standards.
• Compliance: Ensure all ventilation systems and procedures comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Collaboration: Work closely with mining engineers, safety officers, and other team members to coordinate ventilation efforts and support overall mine operations.
• Emergency Response: Develop and maintain emergency ventilation procedures and participate in emergency response planning and drills.
• Reporting: Prepare and present detailed reports on ventilation performance, issues, and improvements.

The Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering OR extensive experience in the field as a Ventilation Officer.
• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in mine ventilation, preferably in an underground mining environment.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in ventilation modeling software (e.g., Ventsim, VUMA) and a strong understanding of mine ventilation principles and practices.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications in mine ventilation and safety are highly desirable.
• Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
