About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Venue Activation & Relationship Officer to join our Creative Communities team, contributing to the development of Yarra Ranges as a creative and connected community.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about nurturing community relationships, increasing Venue Activation, and delivering superior event and venue-based customer service. The Venue Activation & Relationship Officer is responsible for coordinating and supporting various elements related to bookings and Venue Activation for Council's cultural venues and community halls. This role involves facilitating smooth booking processes, fostering positive relationships, and aligning activities with council's strategic direction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinating all booking enquiries, including venue inspections, quotes, and provision of advice, ensuring smooth communication with customers.
- Supporting the Venue Activation Team in event planning and delivery, covering agreements, meetings, bookings, and rostering.
- Coordinating and managing regular hirers, including performance hires, managing agreements, providing expert guidance and support regarding venue options and services.
- Working closely with the Creative Communities team to ensure seamless delivery of activation.
This is a fantastic opportunity suited to someone looking to build on their experience in managing relationships, activation, and event delivery within cultural venues.
This is a full-time, permanent opportunity.
What you'll bring to our team
- Previous experience in managing regular user relationships.
- Previous experience in venue coordination, event planning, or related roles.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with customers and stakeholders.
- Understanding of local government processes and strategic goals is desirable.
- Demonstrated proficiency in booking management systems, MS365 and IT systems relevant to venue management.

- Option to take up a fortnightly or monthly RDO
- Full-time permanent position (38 hours per week).
- Salary from $76,054 to $84,502 (Band 5) per annum, plus 11% superannuation.
