The Role

The iconic Lion Hotel is looking for a passionate and multi-faceted Venue Manager to execute and deliver exceptional services and experiences. With training and mentoring teams at the forefront, you will thrive in a fast-paced environment, fostering a mindset that is dedicated to continuous improvement and innovation.
Your Key Responsibilities
As the Venue Manager you will be responsible for:
- Leading, motivating and supporting all departments, ensuring a positive flow of communication throughout all operations;
- Fostering a healthy and unified team environment where your team fulfils its potential through the cultivation of an inclusive workplace culture;
- Recruitment, induction and training of all department teams, including, product education, training and rostering;
- The daily oversight and effective interpretation of reports, budgets, accounts, commentaries, and financial statements, providing support and understanding of financials to department managers;
- The management of beverage lists, working closely with your dedicated Area Manager;
- The management and training of POS systems across the venue including menu updates, user management and correct use of systems per venue policy;
- Collaborating with the marketing team, utilising marketing mediums to deliver timely and effective messaging to drive loyalty, leading to revenue growth and up to date events communications; and
- Management of Financial budgets and targets through food and beverage, ensuring operational requirements are maintained within target.
About You
Skills and Attributes
- Proven experience in building a venue that is driven to succeed, thirsty for knowledge and driven to implement new concepts and experiences;
- Prior leadership experience as a Venue or Operations Manager of a busy licensed premises or within another dynamic setting in the hospitality industry;
- Display in‐depth knowledge of food and beverage and liquor licensing requirements;
- Thrives in a past passed customer facing role;
- Ability to train, motivate and counsel staff in identified performance opportunities;
- RSA, and Responsible Person certificates essential; and
- Formal qualifications in Hospitality/Business Management highly desirable however not essential.
