The Opportunity: Join the opening Leadership Team
We're seeking a skilled and savvy RESTAURANT MANAGER and BAR MANAGER for Ballyhoo: an unconventional restaurant and bar concept that’s about to make some noise in Canberra's National Triangle.
There is also a VENUES MANAGER role available for the right candidate to lead Ballyhoo and our already launched outdoor garden bar, Rosa's as a part of The Lawns of the Lobby Precinct.
We're big believers in building our roles around our people. As a result, these roles will be shaped based upon the successful candidates that apply.
As a FOH leader, you’ll be part of the opening team, working alongside our Group Culinary Director and kitchen team to bring this ambitious, high-profile project to life.
Menus will be based on the best seasonal produce that the region has to offer, with a heavy focus on innovative cooking techniques, fermentation and fire. Equal importance will be placed on our wine, cocktail and non-alcoholic beverage program.
Ballyhoo is nestled between a couple of Canberra's most exciting recent hospo opens, Rosa's and Koto, and takes prime position in the National Rose Gardens.
Ballyhoo is about excellent food, high quality wine, and being a little boisterous. Come and join us!
You are…
- an experienced Bar or Restaurant Manager with at least 2 years in the game;
- someone who prioritises the guest experience;
- creative, confident and obsessed with quality and presentation;
- a leader who inspires others and facilitates collaboration;
- detail-oriented, with excellent organisational and time management skills;
- cool and calm under pressure/hectic environments;
- experienced in costed rostering and stock control;
- able to prepare and interpret basic financials, reports & budgets;
- open hearted and open minded with a passion to build some meaningful

The company
Ballyhoo is part of a progressive hospitality group based in Canberra. The group are the place owners of The Lawns of the Lobby precinct which is home to Koto, and their owned brand Rosa's - a day to night garden bar servicing the National Rose Gardens. Ballyhoo will complete the diverse restaurant mix at the precinct.
