Whilst nursing experience in busy referral or GP practice is essential, no previous dermatology experience is necessary and we are happy to provide all the training required. We value an enthusiasm to learn, and offer a happy and evenly paced working environment that is far removed from the stress of emergency nursing. We are offering a part time position, ideally working 7.30am-5.30pm Monday and Tuesday.

Experienced Veterinary Nurse
The Veterinary Dermatology Clinic is an independently owned and operated specialty service established in 2016. We now operate at multiple clinics along the east coast of Australia including Canberra (Gungahlin Veterinary Hospital and the Animal Referral Hospital) and Sydney (Sydney Veterinary Emergency and Specialists (SVES), Veterinary Specialists of Sydney (VSOS) and North Shore Veterinary Specialist and Emergency Centre (NSVH)). We also conduct regular visits to regional areas including Newcastle, Kiama, Albury, Bowral and Hobart.

We are a small but super busy team committed to practicing an excellent standard of Veterinary Dermatology and veterinary medicine in general. Our patient's quality of life is our focus.

We love continuing education and provide regular opportunities for you to further develop your specialty veterinary nursing skills.

We are currently recruiting for an amazing, friendly, energetic veterinary nurse to join our rapidly expanding team to support our Sydney location. You will find us to be welcoming & diverse, and you'll work with some of the best minds in the field, in state of the art facilities across multiple specialist hospitals.  We have an in house digital producer too so if you've got creative ideas and love being on camera you'll be provided with plenty of opportunities to be captured doing what you love!

The ideal candidate will possess:
 

• A Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing
   
• Ideally 3-5 years or more of clinical nursing experience, however we value hard work and a positive attitude more! Previous dermatology experience is not necessary, and we are happy to provide you with all the training you need.
   
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
   
• Ability to work as part of a team
   
• Driver’s Licence

The responsibilities of this role would include:

• Assisting with admission and discharge of patients for consultations and procedures
   
• Venipuncture and IV catheter placement
   
• Calculating, preparing and administering medication as directed by the veterinary specialist
   
• Anaesthetic monitoring
   
• Assisting with intradermal allergy testing, bee and wasp venom testing, video-otoscopy and skin biopsies
   
• Client follow up and patient after consult care

The position is part time - 7.30am-5.30pm Monday and Tuesday, with some additional days occasionally on offer.

Wages are well above award and supplemented with quarterly bonuses, weekly "Team Legend" rewards and paid team activities throughout the year (electric bike tour through Murrumbateman's wineries anyone? Paint and Pinot in the Southern Highlands maybe?)
