The Opportunity
The National Video Team's primary purpose is driving video content and video views for ACM and its vast network of mastheads on-platform and across social media platforms. This includes daily news content utilising ACM stories and journalist copy to translate into video-first storytelling, finding and responding to breaking and viral videos in a timely manner and producing bespoke video for local and/or national levels.
We're looking for a creative, digitally savvy and news-hungry Video/Multimedia Producer to join our team. This role is suited to someone who loves to follow news: what's happening, what's trending and has an interest or background in video producing and authentic storytelling. You're comfortable working quickly and independently across different news genres such as lifestyle, viral, sport, politics, entertainment and more.
Day to day you will:
- Be asked to come up with short-form video pitch ideas daily that work for a national audience as well as create bespoke local video packages.
- Source timely and reliable copy, and translate that to a video-first format.
- Execute and edit your videos for ACM's national news platforms and produce a social version for TikTok and YouTube.
- Produce engaging, authentic and quality content consistent with the ACM video team style.
- Manage and upload your content to social media with a keen understanding of SEO optimisation in format, thumbnails, hashtags and trending topics.
Who you are:
- Someone who loves news, loves video, trending topics or being the first to create or spot great content.
- High attention to detail in sourcing, proofing or writing news copy that's video-first.
- Experience in shooting and editing short-form video.
- Interest and/or experience across Adobe Premiere Pro and Photoshop. Further areas of Adobe Creative Suite are a bonus.
- Strong communication and time management skills, and an ability to effectively prioritise across multiple projects.
- Solid understanding and experience encoding and publishing video for online and social platforms.
- Experience video producing and editing, especially in a news environment or in news-based social media is highly encouraged.
