About the role
The driving force behind our business is our people – we have over 1,000 staff across Australia, the UK, Europe, Asia, South Africa, New Zealand and the Americas, and every one of us is passionate about making the ordinary extraordinary through our amazing wines.
Key responsibilities include:
- Irrigation maintenance – checking and repair of drip line, mains and submains
- Slashing and mowing using either tractors, implements, ride on mowers and line trimmers
- Hand pruning – using secateurs and loppers, undertake both cane and spur pruning
- Mechanical pruning – competence in the use of various pruning and trimming machinery
- Pest and disease monitoring where required
- Spraying fungicide, herbicides and insecticides as directed
- Trellis management – installation of posts, strainers, wire repairs and installation
- Canopy management – wire lifting, shoot thinning and desuckering
- Harvester operation – hand picking, tractor bin chasing, loading and unloading buckets and/or bins
- Crop estimation – bunch thinning and maturity sampling
What you’ll bring:
- Up to 12 months previous experience as a Vineyard Hand
- A team orientated mindset
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent time management and a ‘can do’ attitude
