- Support the provision of critical care to patients within the HNE Intensive Care Stream, including providing clinical advice and support to practitioners for patients being retrieved to Calvary Mater Newcastle ICU
- Coordination and assessment of referrals to Intensive Care and Rapid Response Team Service
- Efficient management of admissions and discharges to Intensive Care in coordination with the in-charge nurse when on duty
- Participation in the Intensive Care Staff specialist roster including out-of-hour’s roster commitments in a one-in-five on-call rostering pattern
- Demonstrated competence and experience in providing high quality, compassionate medical care within an Intensive Care Unit
- Demonstrated ability to effectively lead the multidisciplinary team whilst demonstrating excellent verbal and written communication skills and proficiency in periods of high activity.
- Commitment to teaching and supervision of students, trainees and staff including medical, nursing and allied health.
- A Primary Medical Degree registrable by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) & Fellowship of the College of Intensive Care Medicine
