A temporary part time position (working Wednesdays) commencing 24 July 2024 until 18 December 2024. The successful applicant will be required to teach Visual Arts.
The role of Classroom Teacher exists to support growth in faith and improvement in learning so that students may reach their full potential. Importantly, the successful applicant will have a passion for Creative Arts and a desire to drive Visual Arts within the College.
ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA
- Demonstrate a deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader Catholic Church.
- Create and maintain an orderly, safe and supportive learning environment based on the principles of PB4L.
- Apply knowledge of the diverse needs of students to support their full participation in learning.
- Ability to plan for and implement effective teaching and learning in Creative Arts and possibly Religious Education.
- Use a range of assessment strategies and analyse data to inform student learning.
- Demonstrate commitment to engage professionally with colleagues, parents /carers and the wider College community.
DESIRABLE SELECTION CRITERIA
- Aptitude and willingness to contribute to the broader life of Magdalene Catholic College whilst supporting the Visual Arts faculty and celebrating student excellence online and in physical displays of student work within and beyond the College.
- The ability to teach Photography or Religious Education would be beneficial.
GENERAL CAPABILITIES

- Strong organisational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Appropriate qualifications for teaching in the Visual Arts faculty.
- Level B Accreditation in accordance with To Work, Teach and Lead policy or a commitment to gain level within the first 5 years of employment with CEDoW.
- The applicant must be registered to teach with NESA.
- WORKING WITH CHILDREN CLEARANCE
This role is classified as child related work and therefore a Working With Children Check (WWCC) is required prior to your employment with CEDoW.
