Role summary:
We are looking for a talented Visual Content Designer with an eye for detail and the skills to create compelling content across a range of channels and content types. The Visual Content Designer will be responsible for managing all visual aspects of the AEU communications function, including graphic, print, photographic, and video content.
As a valued member of the Union Services Group, you will work closely with the communications team to bring ideas to life and create powerful content which inspires action.
Our ideal candidate has the ideas and abilities to develop and implement creative concepts across the AEU’s flagship printed Journal, social media, and digital channels. Your previous experience in a similar role means you’ll be able to navigate print and publication processes with ease and develop content which aligns to our brand. Your contemporary knowledge of trends and design concepts will keep our channels looking fresh.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and create graphic, visual, photographic, and video content, including direction and production of the flagship AEU SA Journal.
- Create digital and print publications associated with union operations, such as campaigns, training, and recruitment, organising materials, publications, web pages, email newsletters, social media posts and other content under broad direction.
- Help develop AEU member activism by working with the Campaign Director to connect visual communications to campaign strategies.
- Collaborate with other members of the communications team to devise original concepts for social media content, including photography, graphics, videos, and reels.
- Maintain brand consistency in established style and standards of uniformity for content and publications.
A formal qualification or relevant experience in graphic design, content creation, digital communication, media and/or marketing are essential, including advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite.
This is a temporary maternity leave contract position until Monday 16 June 2025. The commencing salary is $91,403 (ASO3).
