The Volunteer Engagement Officer plays a crucial role in managing volunteers at the City’s community centres located in Perth CBD and East Perth.
This encompasses recruitment, roster management, and training coordination. Additionally, the role provides vital support to the operation of the Citiplace Community Centre.
The Volunteer Engagement Officer works closely with a diverse array of stakeholders. This includes regular volunteers, ad-hoc volunteers engaged in community work, and the general patrons of the Community Centres.
You will support the City by:
- Administering all aspects of the volunteer program including compliance, roster coordination, recruitment and delivering and/or organising training.
- Maintain up-date-date records and accurate data entry into the volunteer software package to ensure records comply with City and legal requirements.
- Develop initiatives to actively engage the community centre volunteers and foster a supportive environment.
- Create and send correspondence to recruit and engage community centre volunteers, using channels such as advertisements, website updates and general communications.
- Write and update volunteer position descriptions and operational procedures.
- Provide assistance with daily operations at the community centres, including delivering excellent customer service to a diverse patronage and assisting with reception duties as required.
Skills required:
- Demonstrated proficiency in volunteer management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including the ability to effectively communicate with individuals facing communication challenges, such as those with English as a second language or individuals living with disability.
- Demonstrated intermediate-level computer skills including proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite and a capacity to quickly learn new systems.
- Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
