The Volunteer Training Coordinator as a critical liaison between Lifeline Australia and Digital Volunteers. The role centres around training, developing and managing volunteers as they embark on their self-paced training to become Digital Crisis Supporters (CS). This involves the coordination of several tasks and activities to ensure a seamless and enriching experience for our volunteers. Some of the activities include:
• Volunteer onboarding to our LMS training
• An 8-week self-directed volunteer e-learning module,
• Placement In-Shift Support as learners practice their skills in a live environment
• Coaching and ongoing skills development through workshops and webinars
• Volunteer recognition
• Troubleshoot common IT and platform related issues
• Transcript reviews and quality control
One key focus of this role is to provide real time support to volunteers during their training and placement as well as to coordinate the smooth transition into their initial CS shifts and ensure the ongoing learning and quality of all CS’s.
The role is a full time remote role of 38 hours per week (Monday to Friday), however some paid overtime may be required to support employee leave or other shifts. As this is a remote position, candidates must have reliable high-speed internet and the ability to maintain Occupational Health requirements of private workspace.
Education and Licencing Requirements:
- Full accreditation as Lifeline Voice Crisis Supporter or In-Shift Support Supervisor (ISS) with 500+ hours of experience, experience Digital Crisis Supporter / ISS with Lifeline with 500+ hours of Crisis Support experience; or
- Full accreditation under a national health, social work or counselling registration board.
- Evidence of well-developed skills and competency in crisis support practice.
- Completed or willing to complete coaching training, ISS training and other training as required.
- A clear understanding of reflective practice and debrief techniques in Crisis Support.
- Education in youth work, social work, counselling, psychology or allied health field (2 years post accreditation preferred).
- Ability to undertake a current working with children clearance and current police check.
Experience Requirements:
- Skills in managing others in a digital environment ensuring time and caseload is managed efficiently.
- Experience in adult education and/or training in a remote environment is highly regarded.
- Experience in telehealth or contact centre is highly regarded.
- High level of proficiency with a wide range of software programs including Microsoft Office suite, online meeting platforms (e.g., Chat, Zoom) and accuracy in typing and data entry.
- Experience in Lifeline crisis support/In-shift support supervisor roles would be helpful.
