The Asia-Pacific region currently includes Australia, New Zealand, Vietnam, Sri Lanka and Singapore employing nearly 3000 team members.

Due to an internal promotion, we are now inviting applications for the vacant position of VP, Finance - Asia Pacific.

The primary focus of this role will be to continue to mature the regional finance function in Asia Pacific by implementing globally aligned financial policies and procedures and a governance framework that is consistent with regulatory compliance and shareholder objectives.

Importantly, the role will lead, support and develop the Regional Finance Team that consists of field finance business partners in each of the countries, as well as key functional specialists at the regional level in Accounting and Control, Treasury, Financial Planning and Analysis, Tax, Audit, Procurement and Revenue Management.

More broadly, it will support a multi-country, pan-Asian based finance team of more than 80 people, and work as a critical member of the Region's Senior Leadership team to develop strategies and execute on the regions agreed operating plans.

We're ideally looking to appoint an experienced, highly qualified leader who is ready for a stimulating and unique challenge.

Reporting to both the Global CFO and the President, Asia Pacific and working closely with other key executives in the region and globally, you will act as a trusted finance partner to the business.

Key responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Driving functional excellence in all key finance activities.

  • Ensuring best practice efficiency and accuracy across core accounting functions.to appoint an experienced, highly qualified leader who is ready for a stimulating and unique challenge.

  • Establishing and maintaining an effective Regulatory Compliance Framework.

  • Working closely with other regional and global teams on integrating processes, supporting operational KPI understanding and actioning items required to deliver results.

  • Building out the Asia Pacific footprint by executing agreed M&A and greenfield growth activities.

  • Ensuring continued maintenance of corporate and business operational structures to support real estate investment trust (REIT) status for US tax purposes.

To be successful, you will ideally have:

  • A bachelor's degree is required; Masters or J.D. preferred.

  • Qualifications as a CA or CPA.

  • Extensive experience in a similar, senior level finance role leading a large team across a geographically dispersed region.

  • In-depth understanding of current and new accounting regulations and how they will impact the business - this necessitates a strong understanding of both regional and US GAAP accounting principles.

  • Experience with both Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and real estate investment trust (REIT) operational requirements as they relate to US public companies.

  • A proven track record in M&A and establishing greenfield operations across multiple geographies in the Asia Pacific region.

  • The flexibility to work and travel across multiple time-zones across Asia, Europe and the US.
