Applications Close: 31 March 2024What you'll be doingIn line with the Premiers Priorities the role will work to develop processes and provide intervention for Homelessness, Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence, all of which will be impacted by COVID-19. This position has a specific focus on mental health consumers with complex care needs and will work in close collaboration with the Department of Communities and Justice, NGO’s and General Practitioners.As a senior clinician the role will provide leadership, mentorship and supervision, to ensure the delivery of evidence-based, strengths focused, recovery orientated assessment and treatment within a multi-disciplinary team, and in collaboration with external partners for consumers of the mental health service.Carry a clinical caseload, appropriate to the needs of the service. Align professional conduct with those of the NSW Health CORE Values.All NSW Health workers are required to have completed an up-to-date course of a COVID-19 vaccine (2 doses) which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Applicants are encouraged to review the following information on Applying for a position within NSW Health at:Selection Criteria * Relevant qualifications as an Occupational Therapist / Clinical Nurse Specialist 2 / Psychologist or Clinical Psychologist - currently registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), or a qualified Social Worker eligible for registration with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 must have relevant post-registration qualification and at least 3 years’ experience working in the clinical area of their specified post-graduate qualification, or such other qualifications or equivalent experience deemed appropriate. Clinical Psychologists must be fully registered with a Masters’ degree or higher in Clinical Psychology, Clinical Neuropsychology or some other recognised clinical area in psychology that the employer deems relevant.

  • Demonstrated experience providing advanced evidence based, strengths focused, recovery orientated assessment and treatment for consumers of the mental health service.
  • Experience in the establishment, development or enhancement of links and partnerships between the mental health service, other government and health services, NGOs and the community sector with demonstrated benefits for consumers.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the philosophy and practice of consumers’ families and natural supports participating within the treatment process, as appropriate and in accordance with the NSW Mental Health Act 2007.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, problem solving skills and personal resilience, including its use in leadership and clinical supervision, within a multi-disciplinary treatment setting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including Computer literacy and understanding of relevant health related information systems.
  • Demonstrated leadership in planning, implementing and evaluating local service delivery and associated partnerships, incorporating the quality improvement process.
  • Current unrestricted NSW driver's licence.
