War Memorial Hospital (WMH) is a 3rd Schedule Aged Rehabilitation hospital, situated in Waverley, owned and operated by Uniting and part of the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD). Services are comprised of 24-hour inpatient care, Monday to Friday outpatient departments, several specialist community teams inclusive of Transitional Aged Care, Aged Care Assessment Team, Geriatric Flying Squad, Young Onset Dementia, 6 day a week day centre program, 24-hour accommodation service for regional guests and the full range of hospital support services. Elizabeth Hunter Lodge is a 58 bed hostel style accommodation facility for country, interstate and overseas patients, and/or their carer/family members, who require medical treatment within the Sydney metropolitan area. The Cleaner/Housekeeper is primarily responsible for the provision of a range of housekeeping duties and the maintenance of a clean and safe environment for guests. This position is responsible for the total cleaning of an assigned area under the instruction of the E. Hunter Lodge Manager. There will be frequent interface with patients and their families or carers. In order to accommodate the needs of the Hospital, you may be required to be deployed to other areas or services within WMH.
This position is part time permanent role of 24hrs per week over 5 days.

Selection Criteria: * Relevant experience as a cleaner/housekeeper in a hospital / healthcare / hotel / motel type accommodation
- Demonstrated ability to work with manager supervision and also independently following schedules and instructions
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise variable workloads and manage time effectively
- Demonstrated commitment to the provision of high quality and friendly customer service
- Proven interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate with guests and other staff across all levels in the hospital
- Understanding of Work Health & Safety and Infection Control principles relevant to a cleaning & housekeeping role
- Knowledge of food safety, handling and hygiene procedures
- Basic computer skills relevant to role and mandatory training requirements
