ABOUT US
Urban Shoemakers is a shoe importer and wholesaler with over 30 years’ experience servicing the independent footwear market in Australian, New Zealand and North America. We design, produce and import shoes for our multiple in-house footwear brands, including EOS and Los Cabos. Our shoes are then supplied to wholesale customers (B2B) and retail customers (in-store or via our e-commerce sites).
Due to recent changes within our business, we are now seeking a fit, experienced and highly motivated Warehouse Assistant to join our close knit and vibrant team.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This position is full-time, Monday to Friday (8:00am to 4:30pm) with no weekend work and will be an immediate start for the right candidate who has prior warehouse experience coupled with a high stand of customer service.
You will have an opportunity to work in a small growing company and play and integral role in the receipt, dispatch, management and delivery of predominantly carton stock.
To thrive in our fast-paced environment you will need to be fit, well organised and able to balance competing deadlines but still have time for fun.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Receiving and dispatching all inward and outward stock
- Manually unloading 20ft & 40ft containers
- Assist warehouse manager as required
- Repairing damaged stock
- Pick and pack
- Receiving and processing returns
- Assist with Web-Store requirements
- Pick, pack and fulfil online retails orders across all websites and marketplaces
- Produce manifest & dispatch online orders, within agreed timelines
- Receive deliveries: replenishing and putting away stock as required
- Operate high reach picker & forklift
- Assist with regular stock-takes
- Operating a computer and hand scanner
- Compliance with OH&S policies and procedures
- Creating and printing manifest/consignment notes
- Maintain a clean, organised and SAFE workplace
WHAT YOU MUST HAVE TO APPLY FOR THIS ROLE
- A forklift licence as well as prior experience
- A picker licence would be an advantage
- Computer literacy (excel and outlook)
- Be punctual, reliable, trustworthy, flexible and dependable
- Ability to work under pressure and take direction
- Physically fit & capable of lifting 5 -25kgs
- Good written and verbal skills
- High attention to detail with a ‘can do’ approach
- Able to work independently and also as part of a small team
- Prior experience in a warehouse role.
