UNIMIG is an Australian family-owned business established in 1985. We offer through our distributor network a comprehensive range of MIG welding, TIG welding, Spot welding, Plasma and gas cutting equipment and welding consumables.
We are currently seeking to employ a full time Warehouse Manager for our warehouse in Dandenong South, Melbourne Victoria. In this role you will report directly to the company's National Operations Manager.
The Role
Reporting to National Operations Manager the Melbourne Warehouse Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, including the packing and dispatch of orders, and coordinating freight and logistics in an efficient and effective manner.
The manager will be responsible for implementing best practice warehouse operation policies and ensuring WHS guidelines and processes are adhered to.
They will be responsible for managing and supervising warehouse staff and ensuring those individuals carry out their duties to the high standard expected.
Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Planning and managing all aspects of the warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, inventory management, order fulfilment, and transportation.
- Logistics Coordination including coordinating with customers, suppliers, logistics providers, and internal departments to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products.
- Inbounding and checking all stock, loading, and unloading of trucks and assisting with order picking when required.
- Liaise with interstate warehouse teams regarding orders and stock transfers.
- Adhere to WH&S guidelines, ensuring the warehouse is clean, safe, and presentable always.
- Maintaining records, reporting relevant information, and preparing any necessary documentation.
- Provide leadership, training, and support for warehouse staff.
- Development of warehouse systems and procedures (SOP) taking into consideration product and storage requirements, quality assurance, inventory management, and delivery requirements.
- Facilities Management
Skills & experience:
- Valid drivers License.
- Forklift license.
- Proven experience in a similar role with a proven ability to lead and manage a small team.
- Excellent understanding of warehouse management procedures and inventory controls
- Proficient in WHS knowledge to drive safe approaches and practices onsite.
- First Aid Certificate (Preferable not essential).
- Experience working with transport/logistics companies.
- Ability to work as part of a national team.
- Ability to grasp operational details and work efficiently.
- Strong I.T. knowledge, skills, and experience, especially with inventory management systems.
The role is full time Monday to Friday 8am-4:30pm and the successful candidate will be offered a competitive salary package based on experience.
