About the Opportunity

Are you ready to take charge and make a real impact? We're looking for a dynamic leader to oversee all aspects of safety, service, people, and cost management in our liquor warehouse operations. In this pivotal role, you'll ensure top-notch performance and operational excellence, while fostering a culture of growth and development.

In this Role

  • Lead by example in prioritizing safety and maintaining a clean, secure work environment. Oversee all aspects of warehouse operations, including receiving, putaway, replenishment, assembly, consolidation, and dispatch, ensuring productivity, accuracy, and minimal damage across all Tasmanian branches.
  • Manage and develop a team of supervisors and staff, aligning operational costs and resources with budget forecasts. Drive a culture of continuous improvement in people, processes, and systems, fostering team engagement to develop innovative solutions and improve efficiency.
  • Plan and execute operational and special events with key stakeholders, develop contingencies for capacity issues, and ensure compliance with Food Grade standards. Lead initiatives to improve safety, service, and cost management, creating a positive operating culture focused on collaboration and excellence.
  • Ensure safe working practices are in place and in use, to maximise the wellbeing and safety of employees, visitors, business partners, service providers, drivers and contractors on site.
  • Lead workplace pride by maintaining effective housekeeping and cleaning so they are managed to food grade standards
  • Ensure effective inbound planning and scheduling is in place to manage available capacity and turn around trucks efficiently
  • Minimise error rate by maximising assembly accuracy within the DC and ensuring that deliveries are delivered on time and in full
  • Provide positive and proactive leadership to the entire team and creates a fair, transparent, practical and trustworthy culture on site
  • Openly use proactive and respectful language to foster and encourage the right behaviours
  • Drive productivity and efficient cost management to achieve Overall Work Rate targets and minimize Average Wage Rate

You're Likely a Match If you have

  • Over 5 years of experience leading warehouse operations with a strong understanding of warehouse management systems, industrial relations, and compliance with Workplace Health and Safety requirements and Food Grade standards.
  • Proven track record in preparing, reading, and achieving financial budgets, along with expertise in warehouse optimization and fostering a continuous improvement culture.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and managing teams, handling conflict, and conducting difficult conversations effectively.
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Word and Excel, with the ability to utilize these tools for operational efficiency and reporting.
  • Experience in leading and implementing improvement initiatives, driving projects that enhance operational performance and achieve strategic goals.
