About Great River City Light Rail
Western Sydney is one of the fastest growing regions in our country, with the population of Greater Parramatta alone set to climb by 50 per cent by 2041 and at Great River City Light Rail we want to create new communities, connect great places and help locals and visitors move around and explore what the region has to offer. The new Light Rail will connect Westmead to Carlingford via the Parramatta CBD and Camellia, spanning 12 kilometres and utilising state-of-the-art vehicles that delivers comfortable, user-friendly and high-performance services. By 2026, around 28,000 people will use Parramatta Light Rail every day and an estimated 130,000 people will be living within walking distance of Light Rail stops.
The role
In this newly created role and in a brand-new facility you will have the opportunity to create a structured warehouse environment where parts are stored in an organised and logical way. Moving into operations this role is responsible for taking delivery of all parts across the network, liaising with suppliers and conducting quality checks. As part of receiving and dispatching stock you will assist with unloading containers or delivery trucks ensuring the stock is safely transported into our facility. This role will be responsible for receiving, storage and dispatch of parts from suppliers to our technicians across the Light Rail network.
What you bring
In addition to your current high reach fork lift licence your background will include extensive experience working in a similar role (spare parts, maintenance or related). Given the nature of the work an eye for detail and accurate record keeping, supported by being process driven, is essential. Equally important is your ability build effective relationships with the broader team and to respond to urgent requests in a fast paced environment
