The Warehouse/Production Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all warehouse/Embroidery teams and production activities to ensure efficient operations. This role involves planning, organizing, and controlling the storage and distribution of goods, managing the production process, and leading a team to achieve productivity targets while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Warehouse Management:
- Oversee the daily operations of the warehouse, including inventory management, receiving, and shipping.
- Ensure accurate inventory levels through regular audits and cycle counts.
- Implement and maintain warehouse policies and procedures to optimize efficiency and productivity.
- Coordinate with logistics providers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
Production Management:
- Plan, schedule, and oversee the production process to meet production targets and deadlines.
- Monitor production performance and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Ensure all production activities comply with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Manage production resources, including labour, equipment, and materials, to maximize output.
Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and develop warehouse and embroidery production staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback and training to team members.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, conducting regular safety audits and training sessions.
- Address and resolve any employee issues or conflicts in a timely and effective manner.
Quality Control:
- Implement and maintain quality control processes to ensure products meet quality standards and specifications.
- Work closely with the quality assurance team to identify and address any quality issues or non-conformances.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of production processes to ensure adherence to quality standards.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
- Utilise Lean manufacturing principles and other best practices to drive continuous improvement.
- Monitor industry trends and advancements to keep the warehouse and production operations up-to-date and competitive.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in warehouse and production management, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in inventory management and production planning software.
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members, management, and external partners.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and practices.
Working Conditions:
- This position may require standing, walking, and lifting for extended periods. It is a hands on team member role, work with the team beside the team and support team at all times.
- Must be able to work in a warehouse and production environment, which may involve exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and machinery.
- Ability to work additional reasonable extra hours, as needed.
