Waste Attendant
Environmental Services
Permanent Part Time – 40 hours per fortnight
$24.13 - $26.42 per hour, excluding allowances, shift penalties.
Opportunity exists for enthusiastic and highly motivated applicant to join our busy team. As a Waste Attendant you will provide a clean, pleasant and safe environment for patients, visitors and staff supports at all WGHG campuses.
We have a permanent part time position available, Monday to Friday 16:00-20:00. We offer a friendly, team focused work environment, comprehensive orientation to the department and organisation, in house salary packaging and free car parking. Required skills and experience include:
- Ability to work within a team environment, or independently as required.
- Ability to work under supervision and take direction.
- Ability to manage own work load, handling multiple tasks to ensure that deadlines are met.
- Commitment to ensuring that a patient’s dignity is respected at all times.
- Attend shifts as rostered to ensure hospital services are maintained on a 7 day per week, 24 hours per day basis.
- Good communication skills.
- Demonstrate flexibility and be willing to undertake a variety of duties within the daily routine.
- Experience in customer service, hospitality and security roles would also be highly regarded.
IMPORTANT: All staff employed in the healthcare sector are required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19, including a booster and influenza (unless a valid exemption applies). Evidence of vaccination (or exemption) will be required to be provided prior to commencement.

The West Gippsland Healthcare Group is a customer focused health organisation providing acute medical and surgical, obstetric, emergency, residential care and community health services to 45,000 people in the rural, urban residential, agricultural and industrial areas located within the Baw Baw Shire and beyond. The administrative headquarters are located at West Gippsland Hospital in Warragul, approximately 100kms east of Melbourne.
