Waste Project Officer

• Ongoing, full-time role
• Werribee location with onsite parking
• Band 6 salary of $98,346.36 plus super and a fortnightly RDO

A bit about the role
Join our Waste and Resource Recovery Department in this newly redesigned role.
In this role, you will lead cross-departmental, stakeholder and community collaboration, in the developing and delivery of Waste Projects and services..
What you will do

• Lead the planning, monitoring and delivery of a range of projects and services
• Engage the community, stakeholders and colleagues in the effective planning and delivery of projects
• Assist in preparing project budgets, monitor project expenditure and report on variances
• Contribute to the testing, development, integration, and implementation of IT systems related to the waste collection service and the broader organisational enterprise solution

What you will bring

• Degree or diploma in a relevant field such as project management
• Demonstrated experience in project planning, management and delivery
• Demonstrated experience in maintaining, analysing, interpreting, presenting and reporting on data
• Understanding of waste services in the context of local government (desirable)
• Experience in managing consultants
• Excellent customer service both internal and external to the organisation
• Written and oral communication skills and the ability to write reports, present data and prepare various correspondence, including the ability to present at public or committee meetings
• Current Victorian Driver’s Licence
• A continuous improvement mindset with a positive, proactive, and flexible attitude
