About the role
This is a permanent, full-time, Monday to Friday 7.00 am to 4.00 pm position working 38 hours per week. This position is located at the Ulladulla Wastewater.
Duties
Reporting directly to the Coordinator – Southern Wastewater, the focus of this position is to:
- Maintain and operate Wastewater Treatment Plants including process monitoring and testing and the calibration of various laboratory equipment.
- Responsible for the day to day direction and control of Attendants – Water/Wastewater and temporary staff working from the Treatment Plant, including coaching and on the job training.
- Prepare log sheets and reports associated with the operation of the Treatment Plant (including site specific risk assessment, log sheets, timesheets, diaries and confined space permits).
- Maintain and repair sewage pumping stations.
- Maintain and repair sewer mains and manholes.
- Assist with pumping station, sewer and manhole construction as required.
On call – Being available to be on-call and complete reasonable overtime is a requirement of this position.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in the position, you will be/ possess:
- Wastewater Operator Training Course – Activated Sludge and Aerated Lagoons or equivalent.
- Chemical Dosing & Phosphorous Removal Certificate or equivalent or the capacity to obtain within 12 months.
- Chlorine Handling accreditation
- Current NSW WorkCover/WorkSafe
- First Aid certificate
- Confined Spaces Entry certificate
- Current national WHS Construction Card (WorkCover/WorkSafe)
- Current Class C Drivers Licence
- Proof of Australian residency or citizenship, or authority to work in Australia (visa)
