One of those decisions is: who do you decide to work for?[Embed Dear World video - ]How will your ideas contribute to shaping what’s next?As our new Water Engineer, you’ll be a vital part of the team who are tackling and managing challenging water projects across a project lifecycle, with strong focus on planning, strategizing, options development, design and construction. Some of the key Clients that you will have the opportunity to work with include some of WA’s largest Resource Clients, National Government Agencies and Water Authorities, among others. Your role will include:
- The development of feasibility, concept design and detailed design based on project requirements. Understanding of Client problems through interpretation of scope, and effectively communicating solutions and options to the Client in simple terms through clear and concise report writing. Depending on experience, there are opportunities to lead a team through these, or to be a part of the team, learning on the job and contributing to the overall project objectives.
- Providing discipline specific engineering expertise in feasibility and constructability reviews, including the broader application of the standards. Validation of engineering calculations, design specifications and other design submittals.
- Optimisation of engineering designs from a feasibility, and practicability perspective, including enhancement of technical designs for safe, sustainable engineering and compliance. Understands the application of safe design standards in the real world.
- Assisting with coordination of multi-disciplinary teams to deliver design outcomes in line with Client requirements. Depending on experience, this can manifest as being an integral part of the design team, right up to leading the design team as a Design Manager or providing review as a Technical Expert.
- Participation in the resolution of issues such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of standard materials, and complex coordination.
- For senior positions, provision of mentoring and support to emerging professionals in the team. You will be supported in developing your own leadership capability and technical eminence through our leadership programs, connection with other Engineers in the ANZ Water Practice and mentoring and advice from our respected Design Directors, Expertise and Practice Leaders.
- Share our genuine passion for re-imagining engineering and be someone that actively pursues continuous learning to help shape the future.
- Hold a relevant tertiary qualification in Civil, Mechanical or Environmental Engineering
- Experience in working with or for Resource Clients, or Water Authority type Clients.
- Showcase your strong internal and external stakeholder management experience, a can-do attitude and importantly a strong team player who works well in an agile and collaborative environment.
