Job description

Water is essential for life and is a resource that is only getting scarcer. At CMP, we love that we get to use our engineering skills to make water supplies available, fit for purpose and sustainable for future generations.

CMP currently has opportunities for mid-level and experienced Engineers and Designers across multiple disciplines to join our growing team. If that sounds like something that you’d like to be a part of, read on!

About the company

We are CMP Consulting Group, a 100% Australian owned and operated engineering consultancy. We are leaders in the Water Industry, and we are passionate about the impact we can have for Australian communities through our work. Everything we do, we do to provide excellent, long-lasting outcomes for our clients and the customers that we serve. We create value for our clients and our employees by challenging the status quo that is offered by multi-national consultancies.

About the opportunity

We are growing, with both long term partnerships and new opportunities across Victoria and NSW, including consulting and Design & construct contracts. You will be a valued member of our team to support key water agencies such as Barwon Water, the Melbourne Retail Water Agencies, Melbourne Water, Sydney Water, Gippsland region agencies and more across regional Victoria.

Our partnerships will provide you with opportunities from strategy development, through all stages of design and on to construction and commissioning support.

We’d love to hear from talented Engineers and Designers across all disciplines including:

  • Civil,
  • Mechanical,
  • Structural,
  • Process, and
  • Design Managers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and delivery of medium to large water and wastewater treatment plants, storages, pump stations and pipelines.
  • Input into investigations, and preparation of technical reports, designs and drawings, and technical specifications for a wide range of water/wastewater infrastructure.
  • Use your unique experience to contribute to an expanding, medium-sized business.

About You

You are motivated by good outcomes for the client, community and environment, with a pragmatic and consultative approach to design solutions. You are proactive about safety at work and in design, with an ability to prioritise your work and get things done – and to enjoy what you do, like we do.

You will also possess the following:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in your discipline.
  • Ability to contribute to multi-disciplinary project teams, work autonomously, and take the lead in your specialist area.
  • Experience in engineering consulting in the Australian Water Industry or with relevant industrial infrastructure.

Why work at CMP? We do things a little differently!

  • Be known – join a company where you’re not a number. Where everyone is known, can have their say and make an impact, while still being part of one of the biggest water teams in Victoria.
  • Hybrid and flexible work arrangements – flexible working hours, part- or full-time work, hybrid office/WFH arrangements, paid parental leave, purchased leave options
  • Culture – client and community focused, inclusive of all, fun and relational connection and access to decision-makers, with a focus on wellbeing, safety, and health
  • Lunch supplies provided in the office – every day
  • Career advancement – develop leadership skills in a growing business, paid professional membership and support for Chartership, peer-to-peer training through in-house CMP University program, all expenses paid industry events
  • Variety – involvement in master planning to detailed design, design and construct partnerships, working across a diverse client base
  • Impact – get involved with an awarding-winning leader in social procurement with initiatives supporting Aboriginal businesses, women in STEM, and carbon and sustainability.

We care about where we’re going – the outcomes of our work on people and planet; and how we get there – putting safety and wellbeing first and always helping each other out.
