About the Role:
As a Water Intensity Specialist in the Water Strategy team at Rio Tinto Iron Ore, you'll be at the forefront of delivering key water outcomes across RTIOâs Pilbara iron ore operation. The role offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with a diverse and passionate team, changing the way we approach water management, and implement step-change solutions to meet RTIOâs short to medium term operational and water stewardship goals.
Role Purpose:
Finding better ways to reduce water management footprint through optimisation and improved water management techniques.
Translate RTIOâs commitment to water stewardship into tangible outcomes through intelligent analysis and evaluation of water movement and consumption through development of Water Reporting Tools, Water Intensity Metrics and other analytical tools.
Identify, develop and communicate water management best practices across the RTIO Pilbara Operations, such to distribute shared learnings and best practices.
Ongoing development, evaluation, and communication of various water reporting tools, to provide the business insights and understanding into historical & current performance, trends, and future risk and / or opportunities. Incl. data collation, hygiene, translation and application within reporting tools.
Develop various technical / engineering deliverables to support operational Mine Water Management teams in their day-to-day and future planning activities i.e. water reports, hydraulic models, standards, Process Flow Diagrams, P&IDs.
Lead and support the identification, development and implementation of initiatives or works programs to resolve real operational water management related risks and realise the RTIO Water Strategy objectives.
Hydraulic modeling standards development, circulation and implementation including defining the appropriate governance structures and approach.
Support your fellow water strategy team members through other aspects of water stewardship
Skills & Experience Required:
Experience with and or familiarity with water management systems & tools, and water use within the mining industry.
Familiarity with Mine Water Management infrastructure and an understanding of the challenges associated with mine water management.
An understanding and demonstrated application of Project Management principles.
Experience with and understanding of developing a problem statement, defining project scopes, project goals and detailing steps to achieve necessary outcomes.
Results and outcomes drive person, with an eagerness to learn and contribute to realising the Water Strategy objectives.
An ability to influence, build consensus and influence stakeholders across diverse technical and operational backgrounds.
Anâ¯analytical mindsetâ¯comfortable working with data to inform decisions.
Aâ¯self-starterâ¯with a proactive and results-oriented approach, eager to learn and grow your expertise in the water management field.
Experience with technical drawing, standards, and documentation development (i.e. engineering deliverables)
Hold aâ¯bachelor's degree in a related science/engineering discipline.
Aâ¯current manual WA Driver's license
