The current opportunities are based in Adelaide however, you will be joining a truly connected ANZ Water Solutions business who provide the full suite of consulting services from advisory and engineering through to operations and asset management.

The Jacobs water business has water infrastructure and water resources capability in every major city around Australia working across a multitude of markets such as Utilities, Government, Transport, Resources, and Energy Transitioning to name a few. 

Our team is currently working on projects that have a lasting enduring positive impact on our communities such as advisory services for new water sources for agriculture, flood modelling and engineering services to enable greater connectivity, innovative space saving wastewater sludge treatment projects, and major desalination plants in response to our drying climate. 


Our strong pipeline means that we are currently seeking a Water Market Leader to drive our business across the region.

The successful Water Market Leader will be an all-round consultant with equal measure business development and operations leadership skills. This role will be responsible for growing and sustaining a thriving water consulting business in South Australia.

You will be responsible for understanding the region and developing a strategy drawing from other national and global strategies to grow the Jacobs business in line with key priorities and areas identified for differential growth.

You will drive business development and be responsible for work winning, identify strategic opportunities and support the winning of those opportunities. Through regular industry participation, you will develop and maintain strong key client relationships, identify emerging opportunities with clients and act as a trusted advisor to a select group of Jacobs key clients, representing the Jacobs water at key thought leadership events.

You will be responsible for shaping a consulting business in the South Australia region inspiring and leading our people. You will ensure the people within your remit’s careers are managed through timely career planning and ensure their priorities meet overall business objectives.

From a project delivery perspective, you will ensure our people follow Jacobs’ QA/QC procedures and good governance is maintained for the project’s within your remit. Where appropriate you may fulfil a project management, project director, or technical role on projects where your skillset is suitable.

You will support your PU to ensure it can thrive in a global setting, encouraging cross-geography relationships in order to maximise the benefit of global delivery to our clients and our people.

Further Requirements:

Strong experience developing market strategies to grow sustainable businesses in line with business priorities.

Experience pursuing and wining large water consulting projects and partnerships.

Ability to contribute to the Water Market Team to implement the Jacobs Client Relationship Strategy and Client Management Plans.

Maintain and build on existing client relationships, internal and external, through an understanding of client needs and effective communication.

Drive external participation in the Water industry across the region.
