SalaryAbout the Role:
The Senior Engagement Adviser creates, delivers and evaluates engagement, communications and marketing plans that support DEW's vision for a thriving state built on sound stewardship of our environment and water. The engagement adviser's work is focussed on providing engagement, communications and marketing support across DEW.
The Senior Engagement Adviser works with International Association for Public Participation (IAP2) principles and thinks strategically beyond individual projects to consider how they fit within the wider division, departmental and government landscape to leverage opportunities, assets and resources to benefit those projects. They work closely with project teams to enable DEW to engage and communicate with communities consistently and effectively on a range of high-profile, complex and politically sensitive projects. They also use their expertise to build engagement, communications and marketing capacity more broadly across the agency. They undertake associated tasks within the wider Communications and Engagement branch such as contributing to the management of state-wide owned channels including web, social media and e-news and other foundational activities as required.
The Senior Engagement Adviser will work on specialist projects, including coastal management and First Nations engagement principles, and may be required to communicate with media organisations regarding inquiries and proactive opportunities.

Special Conditions:
- May be required to participate in fire management and associated duties.
- A current class “C” driver’s licence and a willingness and ability to safely operate a 4wd or undertake training is essential.
- May be required to undertake intra or interstate travel and work outside of the normal hours of work.
- This role has been designated as a Position of Trust pursuant to the standards required in the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework. By applying for this role you consent to being screened under the process of obtaining a National Police Clearance (NPC), and to the Department requiring you to obtain an NPC.
Remuneration: ASO6 $97,022 min - $102,626 max p.a., pro rata for part time hours.

Additional Information:
The Department for Environment and Water will establish a pool of suitable candidates who may be employed at any time throughout a 12-month period. Contracts may be offered on either a full-time or part-time basis, with the salary adjusted accordingly.
