WATER TREATMENT OPERATOR - QUEENSLAND (FIFO)

Due to the increased demand for our technologies and services, the team is now recruiting several Water Treatment Plant Operators for different sites in Queensland. Within this experienced team, you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of potable water and sewage Treatment Plants deploying MBR and RO technology.
The role:
Day to day responsibilities will include trouble shooting and conducting preventative maintenance on pumps, controllers, chemical dosing equipment and instrumentation, maintaining inventories, site logs and performance monitoring data.
The Person:
The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience with Water Treatment technologies and be seeking a FIFO/DIDO operations role in Queensland. The position has a 14 days on / 14 days off FIFO/DIDO roster to provide services to a number of remote Water Treatment Plants. As such, the successful applicant must be able to work autonomously in remote locations.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, specific responsibilities for the position include:
- Installation, service and operation of chemical feed and Water Treatment equipment.
- Act as technical consultant liaising with customer management and De.mem technical representatives.
- Monitor and assess plant operational parameters and provide feedback to Coordinator.
- Performs water analysis and/or collect samples for preparation, labelling and shipment to designated laboratory for analysis.
- Troubleshooting and repair of pumps, instruments and control panels.
- Calibrating chemical feed pumps, instrumentation and controllers.
- Management of preventative maintenance on MBR and RO Water Treatment Plants including chemical feed pumps, controllers and instrumentation.
- Maintaining inventory of spare parts (lube oil, tubing, piping, valves etc), and adequate supply of reagents, sample containers, process chemicals and shipment containers necessary for routine operation as well as special sampling and analysis.
- Maintaining site logs, recording and trending of performance monitoring data to optimize plant efficiencies.
- Training of company trainees in the various technical functions encountered on the demonstration plant to enable them to operate equipment safely and effectively.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & ATTRIBUTES
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold NWP30315 Certificate III in Water Industry Treatment or higher.
- 4 years + of Water Treatment maintenance experience.
- 2 years + of reverse osmosis plant commissioning experience.
- Ability to read and interpret instruction manuals and safety manuals.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong mathematical skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
Experience with Water Treatment processing and tertiary-engineering qualifications will be highly regarded.
