With state-of-the-art campuses and facilities, we're preparing students to become global thinkers, leaders and innovators.Detailed DescriptionAbout the RoleThe Web Content Editor meticulously reviews, edits and optimises existing Web Content prior to publication on UTS's web pages. This position will form a key part of the Web Content team and the transformation of UTS's web presence.The role will be based within the Digital Presence Program (DPP) a comprehensive program of work, scheduled over the next three years, to improve the effectiveness of UTS's communication channels. The DPP is a joint Information Technology Unit (ITU) and Marketing and Communication Unit (MCU) venture and works in consultation across the university.There is an opportunity to work from home some days with this role, with the expectation that there are anchor days in the office each week.As the Web Content Editor, you will:
- Review and proofread large volumes of content for spelling, grammar and factual errors prior to publication on UTS web pages within tight timeframes
- Edit content in the CMS, or work with content owners as required, to ensure that publications are consistent with UTS publishing style guides and are articulated with coherence and clarity
- Ensure content integrity for search terms and meta descriptions
- Enhance content readability by ensuring integrity of content flow and structure prior to publication
- Attend team stand ups to report on progress
- Advise on enhancements to workflows or contributions for UTS style guides
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Collaborative team player with the ability to work cross-functionally
- Time management and multitasking skills to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Understanding of the importance and application of content guidelines and style guides
- Knowledge of copyright laws and best practices for online content
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field
