The King David School in Armadale is seeking a full time experienced Web Developer to join its enthusiastic ICT Team. Offering the opportunity to build and enhance web applications and work in a team environment, the successful candidate will also be involved in a variety of IT initiatives at the school.
This is a full time position commencing June 2024.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:
- Proficiency in translating business requirements: Ability to translate business needs into scalable system designs.
- Extensive experience in web development: Proven track record in PHP development with hands-on experience in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Strong SQL expertise: Advanced knowledge of SQL, preferably with Microsoft MSSQL, including database design and administration.
- Debugging and code modification: Strong debugging skills and the ability to quickly understand and modify existing codebases.
- Web server experience: Experience developing PHP applications under both Microsoft IIS and Apache environments.
- Familiarity with WordPress: Working knowledge of WordPress for content management and customisation.
- Ubuntu Server familiarity: Comfortable working in Ubuntu Server environments.
- Cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility: Understanding of compatibility issues and techniques for addressing them.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS
While not essential, the following skills would be advantageous:
- Familiarity with Synergetic Student Information System and Schoolbox: Experience with educational management systems is a plus.
- SAML/SSO integration: Experience with SAML/SSO integration would be beneficial.
A current employee Working with Children Check is essential.
