As a Web Publisher, you will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining the department's online presence, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information is readily available to both internal and external stakeholders.


Your new role

As a temporary Web Publisher, you will be responsible for managing website page updates, content update requests, and organising publishing across internal and external platforms.

Your key duties will include:

  • Collaborating with various stakeholders to understand their website update requirements
  • Negotiating with authors of old content to either remove, or update and refresh old content
  • Implementing changes to website content and ensuring accuracy and consistency
  • Coordinating and publishing new content, including documents, images, and multimedia elements
  • Conducting regular website maintenance activities, such as checking for broken links and outdated information
  • Provide support and training to users on content management systems
  • Monitoring website analytics and reporting on website performance
  • Staying updated with industry trends and best practices in web content management
  • Provide regular updates and suggestions to project leads

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this role, you will have:
  • Previous experience in web content management or a similar role
  • Proficiency in content management systems (CMS) and web publishing tools
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks within competing deadlines
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
  • Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and web accessibility standards
  • Familiarity with website analytics tools, such as Google Analytics
  • Knowledge to guide stakeholders on Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 including writing for the web and meeting accessible reading levels
  • You must be an Australian Citizen to be considered for this role
  • A valid National Police Clearance
