Weed Management Branch – Rangelands Division

The Northern Territory Department of Environment, Parks and Water Security is looking for an enthusiastic and suitably experienced person to work within the Weed Management Branch as the Weed Scientist. This position is a permanent, full-time position located in Palmerston.
This position is responsible for analysing and researching scientific and technical information to develop, implement and support best practice weed management of policies and priorities in the Northern Territory, and to communicate this effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
The successful applicant will have the desire to manage a small team, responsible for the managing, collating and analysis of scientific and technical information to provide evidence-based advice to inform policy, planning and objectives of the Weed Management Branch including biological control, weed identification, and weed biology. The ability to represent the Northern Territory Government on cross jurisdictional committees relevant to weed management and through engagement, scientific input and technical assessment of proposals relating to weed management.
