The Warragul Linen Service (WLS) is a business unit of the West Gippsland Healthcare Group and are a leading linen service provider to several public hospitals across Melbourne metropolitan and surrounds. Our laundry plant is situated in the regional town of Warragul, behind the West Gippsland Hospital.

We are currently seeking a versatile candidate to work as a Driver for Warragul Linen Service every Sunday for a 7-hour minimum shift (Additional hours might be required from time-to-time given the nature of a driving role). Flexibility during the week regarding availability to backfill other Drivers if required will be highly regarded when reviewing applications.

The driving role includes an early start time of 5:00am, loading and unloading of clean and soiled linen trolleys at our Warragul production plant and Metro based customer facilities using the manual handling aid of a pallet jack. Although equipped with a pallet jack, the role may involve some manual handling of linen trolleys from time-to time.

The successful candidate will be representing Warragul Linen Service in and around our community. The importance of presentation and people skills will be highly regarded throughout the recruitment process.      

Major tasks include:                   Please read the Position Description for a breakdown of tasks per area.

• Driving responsibilities (ideal candidate will have a minimum HC license).
• Loading and unloading of clean and/or soiled linen trolleys off the tailgate using mechanical aids.
• Pre-departure inspections and basic data entry as necessary or in line with production requirements.
• Overall vehicle cleanliness, with truck body requirements such as blow down and sanitisation.

• Ability to work as a team, although carrying independent requirements.

Comprehensive on the job training provided with uniforms and protective clothing available.

Please note the role involves manual handling tasks on occasions including pushing and pulling.
