About Us

The National Farmers’ Federation (NFF) is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic person to join the Regional Tech Hub (RTH) Team. The position is 0.6FTE, or 3 days per week, on a 12-month contract, with the potential to extend for a further year. We offer a flexible work environment, meaning this is a fantastic opportunity for someone juggling other work or family commitments. This is a working-from-home role, all IT equipment will be provided.

The Regional Tech Hub is a Commonwealth-funded program run by the NFF. We are committed to helping people living and working in regional Australia to get connected and stay connected to internet and mobile services. We focus on providing excellent individualised connectivity support and sharing knowledge and resources online and through social media to help people in rural, regional and remote communities improve or solve their connectivity challenges. Please refer to our website for information www.regionaltechhub.org.au.

In July last year, the NFF secured $6m for a three-year expansion of the Regional Tech Hub (RTH). This enables the NFF to embark on a bold and exciting new operational approach that builds on the RTH’s strong foundation, since its establishment in December 2019, and aligns with the government’s vision for an expanded service.

About the Role

The NFF is seeking to employ a passionate and driven individual as the Western Australia-based Regional Partnership Officer to join our dynamic team. This position was created to enhance our community outreach and establish strong regional connections. Working at 0.6FTE, the Regional Partnership Officer will act as a state-based liaison officer, covering the expanse of Western Australia. All prospective applicants must live regionally.

Responsibilities

As a Regional Partnership Officer, you will be responsible for proactively building relationships with key stakeholders in Western Australia. Your primary focus will be to engage with regional officers from the major telcos, local councils, state governments, business chambers, Regional Development Authorities, farming systems groups, regional telecommunications managers, and regionally based advocacy groups to name a few. Through these partnerships, you will raise awareness of Regional Tech Hub services, disseminate connectivity information and materials, and leverage existing networks to foster meaningful connections with individuals on the ground.

In addition, the Regional Partnerships Officers will be responsible for:

• Proactively building a wide network of contacts across the designated region.

• Support awareness-raising activities.

• Attending events across Western Australia to promote the Regional Tech Hub at events in collaboration with regionally focused organisations.

• Identifying opportunities to engage with local groups to build connectivity literacy.

• Disseminating customer information and literacy materials to people on the ground.

• Acting as a state-liaison point for the RTH, telcos and community groups.

• Reporting back on progress in regional engagement and engagements with individuals and businesses.

Qualifications and Experience

• Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining partnerships with diverse stakeholders.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with individuals and groups.

• Knowledge and understanding of rural, regional, and remote Australia, including its unique challenges and opportunities.

• Proven ability to develop strategic plans and work independently.

• Familiarity with regional communications, or at least a strong interest in supporting people to overcome connectivity issues.

Reporting

The Regional Partnership Officers will report to the Communications and Engagement and Regional Partnerships Lead for day-to-day content and engagement activities. There are four other state-based Regional Partnership Officers responsible for their own regions. Together, this role will collaborate with the other four RPOs, as well as closely with the whole RTH team.

Benefits and Opportunities

This is an exciting opportunity to join the NFF and the Regional Tech Hub program at a time of significant growth and impact. As a Regional Partnership Officer, you will have the chance to expand your professional network, work closely with influential stakeholders, and make a difference in rural, regional, and remote Australia. The NFF offers a supportive and collaborative work environment that encourages personal and career development.

If you are passionate about building partnerships, fostering community engagement, and driving positive change in regional areas, and improving regional connectivity, we want to hear from you

.

Application Process

To apply for the position of Regional Partnership Officer for Western Australia, please submit your resume and a cover letter outlining your relevant experience and your preferred region. Applications will be accepted until Monday 22 April 2024.

Join us in this exciting new chapter of expanding our reach and making a lasting impact on the communities we serve. Be part of the NFF team as we work towards a better future for rural Australia.
