Facilitate Professional Experience Placements for rural nursing and allied health professionals

About the opportunity
We are looking for a Registered Nurse who is passionate about supporting students to realise their goal of becoming registered health professionals.
As the new Whole of Community Facilitator, you will provide local support for students undertaking Professional Experience Placements (PEP), particularly in rural areas of Tasmania.
The ideal candidate for this position will be experienced in providing direct supervision and preceptorship to students and have recent experience in facilitating student placements including student assessments, preceptor support and training. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to develop effective relationships with both internal and external partners involved in the placement experience.
What you’ll do:
Facilitate professional experience placement support and quality learning and teaching of undergraduate students in nursing and allied health disciplines within the rural placement environments.
Identify and respond to any issues which may impact individual student performance and progression and provide relevant and timely feedback to students.
Provide students with one-on-one support and develop individual student learning strategies and ensure student’s professional experience meets the learning and assessment requirements.
Provide direct support to student supervisors and preceptors in line with individual courses and units.
Develop and provide contemporary resources and local information to students that are specific to the community and add value to the students’ rural experience.
What we’re looking for:
Registered Nurse with substantial clinical experience and expertise within a designated area of practice.
Minimum three years preceptorship in Bachelor of Nursing students is essential.
Experience facilitating Bachelor of Nursing students is highly regarded.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students, their supervisors, a range of health organisations, and the university both orally and in writing.
Demonstrated ability to motivate students and staff and promote teaching and learning outcomes in healthcare environments.
Excellent organisational skills and capacity to work effectively and efficiently with a range of health organisations, using discretion, confidentiality, and sound judgement.
Salary details
Appointment to this role will be at HEO 7 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $123,548 comprising base salary within the range of $96,071 to $105,597 plus 17% superannuation.
